Bhutan Ecological Society

BES

Partnership Period: 2024-2025

Overview

The Bhutan Ecological Society (BES) is a leading civil-society organization dedicated to advancing ecological research, environmental innovation, and community-based action across Bhutan.

Through the Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia (PLEASE) initiative, funded by the World Bank and implemented by SACEP and UNOPS, BES worked to reduce plastic leakage into Bhutan's rivers by strengthening waste systems, mobilizing communities, and building knowledge that can be scaled nationally.

As the Communications and Advocacy partner for BES and GIN under the PLEASE Project, Nyingnor led the full communications portfolio, from strategy to execution. Our work ensured that the project's interventions, impact, and community partnerships were visible, accessible, and grounded in local stories.
